We had a great time hanging out with everyone’s pups today at our Halloween Party in London Ontario. We hope the pups had as much fun as we did and enjoy their treat bags that we dropped off with them!
Hello Everyone!!
We will be hosting a Puppy Shananigans Halloween party on Oct 24th for a few hours of backyard fun.
Puppies will have a chance to have their pictures taken and emailed home later that day.
They will also be given their own trick or treat bag to bring home, filled with lots of treats.
If your pup has a Halloween costume feel free to leave it out for the walker to bring for their pet picture.
(dogs will not wear their costumes through out the event to limit the chance of being ruined or rough housing)
This event will be $30.00 includes pet picture, treat bag, pick-up, drop off and lots of fun!
Talk about second chances. Preston, the Flat Coated Retriever.
Left unwanted at the shelter, for no known apparent reason. Seeming like a happy excitable young dog, Preston was being considered for adoption. This was very soon reconsidered and the unknown reason became clear. Prestons’ adoption chances were out the window. Humane euthanasia was now being considered due to his extreme food aggression. Almost ripping the hand off of a kennel member at the shelter. Prestons’ options were becoming limited. Puppy Shananigans was soon informed of this extreme behaviour. Believing all dogs should be given a chance. Preston was recruited into Puppy Shananigans Rehabilitation Program. Today, Preston is in his Furever home, his transition would not have been successful without his new Dads dedication following the rehabilitation plan. Preston has mastered all his behaviour issues, and is even thriving at treat balancing based tricks. Preston and his new family are extremely happy to have had this amazing second chance.
Murphy was a much neglected dog before rescue. With over grown, dirty, matted fur.
Nails that grew so long they curled into his matted paws. Understandably Murphy had some trust issues. Responding with fear based aggression towards being groomed…so afraid that he would bite to defend himself. Puppy Shananigans worked with Murphy towards building that trust, a dedicated journey through foster care with goals of adoption.
With positive communication Murphy exceeded expectations. An understanding that grooming does not represent fear or pain, rather a moment to enjoy the attention being given.
Zeke is a 1.5 yr old ShepXLab, he loves visiting the dog parks about 2 times a week.
He is a playful energetic pup that is always learning and growing, it is always a treat to take him out and see him run around with all the other dogs in the park.
